Conscious Together

Conscious Together

Our sustainability program reflects our belief that our products should be as conscious as they are inclusive.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give everyone the self-confidence to express their beauty, to play, and to make change.

Our Program

We are committed to creating products that are as conscious as they are inclusive, rethinking the way we design, produce, package, and recover our products so that beauty and responsibility go hand in hand.

Our Plan

Four key focus areas guide our innovation:

  • Formulas — sourcing more ingredients from nature or recycled materials.
  • Production — powering our manufacturing with renewable energy.
  • Packaging — moving toward recycled and biobased materials.
  • Circularity — helping our products, and their packaging, find a second life.

Our Progress

  • 34% of our ingredients are sourced from nature or recycled materials.
  • 100% of new and renovated products are eco-designed.
  • 100% of L'Oréal-owned factories use renewable energy.
  • 1,100 tons of virgin plastic replaced since we began this work.

Conscious Packaging

Our goal is for all of our packaging to contain 50% recycled or biobased materials. We are working steadily toward that target, reducing our reliance on virgin plastic year over year.

Conscious Production

We are transitioning our manufacturing sites toward 100% renewable energy, so that the way our products are made is as thoughtful as the products themselves.

Conscious Formula

We are increasing the share of ingredients we source from nature or recycled sources, with the aim of reaching 75% of ingredients from these sources.

Conscious Circularity

We are expanding our takeback programs so that empty packaging can be collected and recycled. Through these programs we have collected over 140 tons of packaging across thousands of retail locations in several countries.

Additional Initiatives

  • We partnered with Closed Loop Partners on research into recycling small-format packaging.
  • We joined a consortium dedicated to recovering small-format packaging.
  • We support The Recycling Partnership's Small Town Access Fund.
  • We have helped bring recycling access to approximately 55,000 households.

Together, these efforts move us closer to a more conscious future — because beauty and responsibility belong together.
